Sharing Warmth in the Lowcountry
Last winter, the Redeemer congregation donated more than 200 warm, handmade scarves to the three warming shelters in the Charleston area!
This is an ongoing project. Each shelter accommodates 60 people; we already have enough scarves to give to one shelter, thanks to generous folks who made scarves during the summer.
Do you knit or crochet? Would you like to learn? We don’t have meetings, but occasionally we set aside a time to help folks get started with simple stitches.
Make a few scarves!
They can be knitted or crocheted, as simple or elaborate as you like. NOTE: Finished dimensions should be about 7-8 inches wide and 40 inches long. This size enables the recipient to wrap it around the neck OR the head.

Want to learn a simple stitch?
Come to the church parlor right after the 10:30 service on Sunday, September 27. We’ll help you get started on a simple stitch that can make a nice scarf.
