Michael Blanton

Handbell Program Director

Michael has attended Redeemer for the majority of his life, and began directing the handbell program in 2019. He began playing handbells at age 9 and joined Redeemer’s handbell choir at age 13. He has an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Clemson University, where he also played bells in multiple ensembles around Clemson and Greenville. Michael can play a wide variety of musical instruments, including the piano, organ, harp, harpsichord, carillon, ukulele, theremin, accordion, ocarina, and recorder, and he is also a composer and loves to write music for our bells to play.
