The Basics
Sing and Celebrate is a children’s choir that meets 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays at 11:45-12:15. We learn anthems for worship, learn about the bible and our worship service, sing silly songs, dance a little, play a few instruments, and generally CELEBRATE God’s love through SINGING. In rehearsals we:
- Develop our musical gifts.
- Learn more about participating in worship.
- Experience the wholesome joy of creating music together.
- Experiment with instruments and dance.
- Pray together.
- Develop relationships based around our shared love of God.

FAQ's
This year, the choir will sing in October, Advent, Christmas Eve, Lent, and Easter Sunday. For Christmas Eve, we work together in Sunday School on a dramatic telling of the Christmas story for the early Christmas Eve service.
The choir comes to the children’s choir room after Sunday School to sing at the 10:30 service. We are working toward wearing choir robes, sitting as a group, utilizing hymnals and bulletins in worship, and singing a song behalf of the congregation.
We tend to put kids in the box, “So Cute” when they sing in church. But singing in church is more than entertainment; we are worship leaders.
Robes help us identify in our group and help us prepare for that role. Our congregation may focus more on the group’s sound and message and less on the “cute” attire of the singers. We hope that, while being inspired by the youth of the singers, you are also touched by our music and message.
We practice 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays after the late Sunday service. Keep your calendar up-to-date by watching the weekly bulletin and subscribing to our TeamReach group.
Yes!!! We need at least 2 parents to help during rehearsal and 4 when we sing in church. Helpers:
- Sit with us when we lead worship.
- Help us put robes on and hang them up correctly.
- Help us remain focused in rehearsal.
- Help with special events like lunch after the Christmas Pageant rehearsal.
Fear not! All of this is available in the TeamReach App. Deacon Katie can also email it all to you again. 🙂
